Jayden's Black Western Save the Date Quinceañera at Adriatica Village

Before every quinceañera celebration, there's the moment the invitations go out — and Jayden knew her Save the Date had to set the tone. We spent an afternoon with the family at Adriatica Village in McKinney, walking through the lakeside wrought iron fences, limestone walls, and waterside paths that give this Mediterranean-style village its signature look. The goal was simple: capture Jayden's personality so clearly that every friend, cousin, and tía who pulled her Save the Date off the fridge was already hyped for the main event.

The Concept

Jayden's direction was modern Texas-glam all the way through — bold black, dressed up with cowboy boots, finished with a quince-day-worthy crystal tiara. No formal gown, no ceremony feel. This was the announcement shoot, several months out from the event, meant to live on invitations, mailers, and Instagram.

The session played the contrast between European-village architecture and Texas-glam styling — limestone walls and wrought iron against black velvet and brown leather, sandy stone tones grounding a richer, deeper palette. Black Western Save the Date sessions hit a different lane than the boho or pastel takes that dominate the DFW quince market, and Jayden's session is one of the strongest examples of the look we've shot this year.

The Outfit

The centerpiece was a black velvet mini dress — clean lines, polished surface, a confident contrast against the warm stone of Adriatica's architecture. She paired it with classic brown leather cowboy boots and a full crystal tiara that punched bright against the deeper tones in the dress. Hair worn down with light curls, makeup a polished neutral, jewelry kept minimal so the tiara could carry the look. The outfit walks a clean line between dressed-up and Texas-cool — a distinctly DFW quince sensibility that translates beautifully from announcement photo to party-day candids.

Halfway through the session, Jayden swapped into her second look — a black tank top, light-wash flare jeans, and the tiara still in place — for a more relaxed, everyday side of the same story. Outfit changes are one of our favorite parts of a New Dawn Photo Save the Date session: two distinct looks in a single morning, double the range for invitations, mailers, and social. The casual half of Jayden's gallery captures her exactly the way her friends and cousins know her, while the formal half sets the tone for the quinceañera itself. Together they tell a fuller story than a single outfit ever could.

The Location

Adriatica Village (Bear Creek Court, McKinney, TX 75070) is a Mediterranean-inspired master-planned community built around a central lake, and one of the single best DFW locations for a Save the Date session that wants both architectural drama and natural setting in the same shoot. The village's bell tower, limestone walls, lakeside paths, and wrought-iron fencing deliver a European travel feel without leaving North Texas.

For Jayden's session we worked the lakeside fence line, the limestone walls along the main plaza, and the waterside paths — all within a few hundred feet of each other. A note for anyone planning their own shoot at Adriatica Village: parking is easy, the bell tower side catches the best afternoon light, and weekends fill up fast with portrait sessions.

Favorite Moments

A few frames from the session that earned their spot in the final gallery:

  • Jayden mid-pose at the lakeside wrought iron fence, water and Mediterranean facades behind her

  • The confident, joyful lean against the limestone wall, late-day light catching the velvet's surface

  • A full-body frame along the stone path, the bell tower rising in the background

  • The unguarded laugh between poses — the candid frame that always makes the Save the Date final cut, and the one that captures Jayden best

What's Next

The Save the Date is only chapter one of Jayden's quinceañera story. Her formal preshoot at Mandalay Canal at Las Colinas (the gown session) and the quinceañera itself at Luxor Banquet Hall in Carrollton are both on the books.
